Health and Hygiene for Women Programme – Health and Hygiene for Women Awareness Session for I PUC Girls
Vidyodaya Pre-University College, Udupi, in association with the Inner Wheel Club, Udupi, organized an insightful and informative session on “Health and Hygiene in Women” for I PUC girl students on 8th July 2026 at the Vidyodaya Public School auditorium.
Dr. Indira V. Shanbhag, a well-known gynecologist from City Hospital, Udupi, was the resource person for the session.
Esteemed guests including Smt. Saritha V.K., President, Inner Wheel Club, Udupi; Smt. Vani Prabhu, Secretary, Inner Wheel Club, Udupi; other inspiring representatives of the Inner Wheel Club; and Sri Sandeep Kumar, Principal, Vidyodaya PU College, Udupi, graced the occasion.
The session aimed to spread awareness on women’s hygiene and its critical role in overall health and well-being.
While addressing the students, Dr. Indira Shanbhag spoke about the importance of maintaining proper menstrual hygiene, addressing common misconceptions, and adopting healthy lifestyle habits to prevent infections and complications. She also provided essential guidance on maintaining hygiene during menstruation and discussed the proper use of sanitary pads and menstrual cups.
Smt. Saritha V.K., President, Inner Wheel Club, Udupi, delivered the introductory address.
Smt. Anupama I., HOD, Department of English, welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource person to the audience.
Smt. Usha, HOD, Department of Commerce, proposed the vote of thanks.
Smt. Ranjana K., Vice Principal, Vidyodaya Pre-University College, along with the President and Secretary of the Inner Wheel Club, Udupi, felicitated the resource person with a bouquet and a memento.
The session was highly informative and empowering. It helped the students understand the significance of hygiene in leading a healthy and confident life.
